ecomponentsuk.co.uk

Fri Oct 19, 2012 1:02 pm

I may be paranoid, but...

Having ordered a small number of electronic components and some PCB making stuff from ecomponentsuk.co.uk on 11th October, nothing has turned up yet and they appear to be impossible to contact on the phone. Voicemails and emails have gone unanswered. Online reviews for the company seems to be mixed, but tending towards the negative.

Can anyone add their experiences?

(Yes, I could have used other more-RPi-associated suppliers, but a couple of specific things I was after were out of stock).

Did you do the research before or after you ordered?

I've not heard of them before, but doing a quick whois shows their web site was registered back in Feb 2011. Email them directly and ask what's causing the delay?

Ta, but they have already had four emails and three voicemails from me (the phone is never answered). The last email said I would refer them to their local Trading Standards if I didn't get a response by Monday 22nd October, so unless there's a package at work or they contact me tomorrow I'll be firing off a complaint.

I am not in the UK so I don't know if things work the same way there or not and I also don't know how you paid for your order, but we have the option to do a "charge back" through our credit cards for things like this. If it applies to your situation it can be a good option to get your money back if need be.

Thanks, I am aware of all that. Fortunately, the goods arrived this morning!

Considering the long delay in receiving my order and the time I wasted trying to get a response from the company I do not feel they are a reliable supplier though.

ecomponentsuk.co.uk

Goods orders May 7th and nothing has arrived. I've emailed but have recieved no reply. Not sure I'd advise anyone to use this company.

It's only been 2 weeks, be patient.
