39pin 12mm mipi dsi to raspberry

Wed Mar 22, 2017 5:51 pm

Hi, first post here

I have a small display straight from a factory meant for use with VR headsets.

I could get a hdmi driver board for it but that's a bit of an overkill and I'm afraid of it adding delay as lag causes motion sickness in VR.

It's a 39 pin 12mm wide ribbon cable, they say 'mipi dsi'.

I need to use this display because of its pixel density.

Is it possible to connect it directly to a raspberry with some kind of plain adaper cable or does it have to go through some microprocessor and circuit board?

The official Raspberry 7in is the only display which can be connected to the DSI interface (2-lane MIPI on Standard Pi).
Sorry to say but you will have to use your driver board.
