Please help? USB and connector

Wed Jun 22, 2016 8:39 pm

Hi guys I've installed perl pobd recorder on to my pi and if I use

./pobd_logger -v /dev/pts/ttyUSB0

It connected to the odb connector and gives all the information

But this software is suppose to be designed to work headless and when I connect to a car as per the instruction it lights up the one connected but doesn't appear to be logging, the ACT light should be constant green to indicate logging but seems to load the OS and the ACT light goes out

Can some one please help really stuck

May it be that there is some ground loop? (if not tested yet?) can you run your Rasp from some power not connected to the car? Like a power bank for mobile phones or similar, not att all in contact with the car, except through the odb.
