Why is my Rasberry Pi Camera board stream so slow?

Tue Aug 26, 2014 8:37 pm

Dear Pi community,
I have been using an Rpi camera board with the 3D print server Octoprint so that I can watch my prints remotely. However, when I visit octopi.local to control and monitor my 3D print, the camera module footage is extremely slow and choppy. I think that this may have something to do with my home network speed. Please refer to https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic ... iv3EYQ1ez0forum post for videos and more information on my problem. Thanks, icecats

I use mjpg-streamer and although my speeds are faster than yours (20 mb), it should work. What program are you using to stream the video? Also, what resolution are you using?
There are 10 types of people: those who understand binary and those who don't.
