rpi-update: encode -> black

Tue May 13, 2014 8:11 am

we need a leg up, we've isolated an issue but would like help to better define before filing with rpi-update.

in brief openGL RPi tutorial encode_OGL works fine with builds until recently, and fails on rpi-update.
details and comments: https://github.com/peepo/openGL-RPi-tutorial/issues/3
this tutorial combines openGL, openMAX and camera.

all other tutorials run as expected

thanks again

I've just done a quick bisect on the firmware tree. It's a bug in your app.

In video.c

Code: Select all

#define CAM_WHITE_BALANCE_CONTROL       OMX_WhiteBalControlOff
As at Mar 27, 2014 manual white balance control was augmented by being able to set custom red and blue gains. You aren't doing that, so you end up with x0 gains and black images.
Set it to OMX_WhiteBalControlAuto and you'll get images on top of tree.
