Lose display when camera running

Sun Jan 26, 2014 4:46 pm

Background:

Up until Friday I have been playing with Pierre Rausfast magic mirror application with no problems, ( i.e. All programs run and camera displays an image) and adafruits creepy picture application.

Yesterday when I added some more images for the face recognition training the display blanked and sometimes an error message was displayed on my monitor saying no signal. After checking the leads the display returned, I then realised though that this was related to the magic mirror program, it runs for just over a minute and then stops. So while the program is running I now lose the display . The same thing happens with the creepy picture application as well.

Has anyone else seen this problem?

I was thinking or checking the following,
Run raspistill
Load an earlier back up of my SD card,
Connections

Cheers

More likely a power supply problem. The camera takes quite a bit of power, and if it takes too much the HDMI may suffer.

Have you recently changed USB leads or power supply?

You would try setting the HDMI boost to increase the signal strength.

Hi,
I have not made any changes to the power supply and am also using a powered hub.

In the past I had a problem when the PI was only being supplied via the USB hub, so I checked that both supplies were working.

Thanks for the response , I will bear it in mind next time I power up,

Steve
