Camera board as network security cam?

Sat Aug 24, 2013 1:34 pm

I am experimenting a bit on if I could use the RPi camera board as network camera to monitor stuff. But it seems there is a large delay and the low light performance is not very good. I tried to set the ISO to 800 but this did not seem to have any effect. When looking at the source of raspistill and raspivid it seems that option is not implemented in both?
Any one else experimenting with this? Please share your best setttings / implementations :)

You can do streaming in at least three different ways. There's several threads in here about it.
I like VLC because it's quite easy, but there is a lag of about 4 seconds on my LAN.

Manual ISO control is not yet implemented as far as I am aware, but I think it's on James' list for future enabling.
