Mon Jul 15, 2013 11:03 pm

Hi,

I just bought camara module for raspberry pi.
I see a lot of tuto talking about software installation & use, but :

I'm using Gentoo linux distribution (not raspian) .. and i don't know how enable camera support & install raspivid & tools
(i don't have the "raspi-config" command)

Anyone know the way?

Thanx a lot

I am running Gentoo with kernel 3.12.26 and I failed to make my camera working.

I tried with config.txt as follow:
gpu_mem=128
start_file=start_x.elf
fixup_file=fixup_x.dat

I tried with config.txt:
gpu_mem=128
start_x=1

And none of these is working. I am still getting an error on raspistill:

mmal: mmal_component_create_core: could not find component 'vc.ril.camera'
mmal: Failed to create camera component
mmal: main: Failed to create camera component
mmal: Failed to run camera app. Please check for firmware updates
