Re: M12 lens adapter for camera module

Thank you again for your help in my topic,

I have a question for you.

I can see that in your picture, you had a problem similar to mine: The pink halo when you remove the original lens and put a new one.

How did you manage to get rid of it in the last pictures you posted? I suspect it was due to reflection of the IR filter in the shiny plastic thread for the original lens, so by cutting it, no more reflection? Or is it an automated correction from the raspberry that you manage to disable?

Regards,

Martin

I did nothing but mounting a new lens as is without any change in hardware or software and take the images with lens in focus.

For example here:

We can see this pink halo

Do you still see it in your pictures?

Someone talk about it here, but no solution found yet...

If you believe your lens has absolutely no vignetting (unlikely), then you can just use the simple override to just disable the stage https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/view ... 3&t=175711

I did it -- although I only have one v2 camera, I did remove its lens, did cut notch into M12 lens mount with Dremmel, screwed it on v2 camera module and put in f6.0mm 65° lens.
While you can buy cheap v1 NoIR cameras with M12 lens mount and lens and therefore don't need to connect the M12 mount to your v2 board yourself as described, I am not aware of v2 cameras sold with M12 mount.

If you have a Raspberry v2 camera, want to play with M12 mount lenses and don't want to do what I described, there is an alternative. You can buy a 15$ free shipping imx129 with M12 mount and M12 lens to start with:

This is how it gets mounted on your existing v2 board after you removed your existing imx219 sensor:

After having done this, you can replace the 160° M12 lens with any M12 lens you want to use.

The most difficult part was definitely to unscrew the existing v2 camera lens -- not sure whether it would be possible to put back. But what I have seen sofar with M12 mount lenses there is no reason to go back.
There is another way to get back to imx219 sensor with small builtin lens as the original v2 camera. And the replacement lens can be used while M12 mount is still in place, allowing for quick switch between original lens and M12 lens sensor:

Hi!

I' have bought this NOIR camera Image
https://www.lextronic.fr/camera-vision- ... 39854.html.
As the angle is only 60°, I'm searching a way of setting up a lens of 180 degrees on it.

After reading this topic, that is really interesting by the way (thanks!), I've understood that I have to buy a M12 support and lens.

Then, I've searched M12 support (of 20mm, it's correct ?), and the only link I found is the following: https://www.banggood.com/fr/5PCS-M12-20 ... 34037.html.
And for the lens, I've found this one: https://fr.aliexpress.com/item/33004479786.html
Is it right products? Can I buy them?

Thanks in advance!
