HDMI Goes Blank

Tue May 21, 2013 8:16 pm

Hi All,

I may be missing something here but have a couple of questions,

1) when you use the raspistill command where does it put the photos it takes.

2) if I use the command raspistill -d my screen I seem to lose my HDMI output is this correct, the red light on the CAM board comes on.

Regards

The output file will be wherever you tell it to be. So if you type "-o image.jpg" it will be in the current directory that you ran the command from.

raspistill -hf -o image.jpg
will make a file called image.jpg in the current directory it should not switch your display off if it does it may be that your power supply is just not good enough - what are you using?

Hi rattus,

I am using the command raspistill -o test.jpeg,

And the red light on the camera module comes on and the scree goes blank, and then almost straight away as the red light goes of the screen re appears this happens in GUI and shell environment,

Power supply I am using a iPad charger and getting about 4.86V, when camara switches on I get about 4.75v

Issue I think I have resolved, I have had a play tonight and by making config Hdmi boost to 4 the problem seems to have gone away
