raspistill "warmup" time

Sun May 19, 2013 9:40 am

It looks to me like there is a certain delay required to get the camera to adjust its exposure settings when I call raspistill the first time. Something like -t 50 seems to be the minimum timeout required. Or is there some way to work around this?

No, it does need that time to get is white balance and exposure sorted out. It does depend on the scene as well, so the minimum time will change.

Thanks for the clarification. So if I wanted to do something like triggering a shot by a light sensor or button and want to avoid that delay, what would be the preferred strategy?
