I,ve not ordered from CPC before, so had to register. Placed an order yesterday and online my order is complete, but not tracking.
Anyone get there's today?

Nothing yet.
I got an email at 6.26am yesterday confirming the order, and status changed to complete yesterday afternoon.
Being an optimist maybe it will turn up in the next couple of hours.
If not, then hopefully it will arrive tomorrow.

You should see a tracking number / link if you go to the order details (click on 'customer order name / number). Well, at least I do
Haven't received mine yet. According to the tracking info it has not even left the depot 3 miles up the road, but then the UPS tracking info is not always *that* reliable. Scheduled delivery is still today, though...

Unfortunately all I see is "Tracking number not available".
Re: Any in UK get there's from CPC ?
I ordered mine yesterday and it showed "tracking number not available" (or something similar) but has arrived by normal post about an hour ago. You only get a tracking number if sent by courier I believe.
The postman (bless him!) has managed to completely squash the box as he put it through the letter box with a load of other post, but the camera module seems undamaged. The packaging is just one of those plastic posting bags with no padding. I think CPC might get a few returns if they are all packed like this!
Just waiting for the Pi to do software update/upgrade so I can try it.
UPDATE: It works fine - looks like Royal Mail failed to kill it!

Same here. Squashed box through the letterbox but contents ok. CPC / Farnell don't seem to have the same packaging budget as RS. But at least they have stock and have shipped orders which is the important thing right now.

Re: Any in UK get there's from CPC ?
Ordered mine on Tuesday and it arrived Wednesday, with a squashed box! Camera OK, but CPC Farnell must really get their act together on packaging, or does it come from Pencoed in this box?

The postman just delivered mine.
Re: Any in UK get there's from CPC ?
I have a "Tracking number not available" on mine. There were two delivery options, I suspect the standard one doesn't include tracked delivery.

Mine just arrived from CPC. Very impressed with their fast free shipping.
Will likely buy from them again if I need some more pi stuff.
Interestingly a lot of pi stuff seems cheaper on CPC than farnell and CPC has free shipping... And they are both owned by the same people! Weird

Re: Any in UK get there's from CPC ?
Mine was waiting when I got home from work last night, in the obligatory squashed box. I had only ordered it the day before so I was pleasantly surprised.
Although CPC is a Farnell company, it wouldn't allow me to use my Farnell log in, but also wouldn't let me use the same user id when I set up a new account with them, which was a bit irritating.
The camera works OK locally, but kills the network, wireless or ethernet, when I try to stream, but that's something for a different forum.

Very glad to hear that you've got your cameras OK and that they are working ok despite the squashed boxes.
Just to let you know that they obviously didn't leave us squashed and we will be following up on this, sincere apologies about that.

Re: Any in UK get there's from CPC ?
I've been using CPC for several years, and FWIW this is actually my first CPC delivery that's come via royal mail and not via courier in a box

Not a big problem though, all fine inside the box
note the install guide was in the jiffy back loose, not in the camera box.

Re: Any in UK get there's from CPC ?
Mine has just arrived and wasn't even in a jiffy bag, but in a self sealing grey plastic bag. So there was no padding for the white cardboard box, other than the wad of paper work folded up inside with it.

Yours is particularly interesting Mortimer, could you let us know the Order Reference of that on social@cpc.co.uk please so we can investigate that one internally?
Thanks!

Re: Any in UK get there's from CPC ?
My camera also arrived in a slightly squashed white box in a grey mail bag, with no protection other than that there was a lot of air in the box which absorbed whatever squashed it.
Re: Any in UK get there's from CPC ?
Could you do the same please Zxa? - Send the Order Reference to social@cpc.co.uk and we'll look in to these orders.Zxa wrote:My camera also arrived in a slightly squashed white box in a grey mail bag, with no protection other than that there was a lot of air in the box which absorbed whatever squashed it.
