Makerfocus Night Vision Camera

Tue Apr 17, 2018 10:59 pm

I am using a MakerFocus Night Vision Camera for the Raspberry Pi Zero. The daylight video is ok. But when it is dark, there are several random lines through the video. I have tried replacing the power supply, the pi zero, and the camera. But the problems still persists. What could be causing this problem?

These cloned cameras are an absolute pain in the rear.
Unless they have done something very clever, then they've added a very large load to a 3.3V power rail that won't handle it. Disconnect at least one of those ir leds and you'll probably find the problem goes away.
