Adjustable tilt camera stand

Sometimes getting the camera positioned correctly can be hard because of the flat cable. The camera doesn't weigh enough so the cable tends to push it around, and getting it aligned horizontally is yet another problem. I decided to make a little tilt stand that would also add some weight so it would tend to stay where I put it, rather than resorting to tape and/or wedges to aim and hold it down.
I took a few small pieces of cedar and a 3/8" dowel and made a tilt stand for it. It's much easier to aim now, I can watch the preview window and just tilt it up and down till everything is centered like I want.

The dowel is a friction fit so it holds position. I wish now that I had made the sides taller, so it would sit upside down as well. Sometimes it works better to place it upside down and invert the image rather than trying to keep the camera "upright". Guess I''l have to add some side extensions on the top next.
