Re: Surface mount connections

Hey all,

I'm looking at mounting a RasPi inside a C64 or a Laser 128 case. Since the early photos show the inputs are scattered all over the unit (HDMI on one side, USB on another, RCA on another, ect.) I need a way to extent those outputs to the back panel.

Does anyone know where you can get short extension cables with surface mounts? Below is a PCI card with serial ports which are surface mounted to a PCI dust shield. The serial connections I'm taking about are on the right.

Thanks for any help

Thats a bit like nuts and sledgehammers to my way of thinking.

I'd suggest carefully desoldering the connnectors, then remount them on a piece of stripboard ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stripboard ) to match your particular requirements, Solder wires to the holes left in the Pi (where the connectors were removed from) and connect them to the appropriate points on the stripboard.

Shouldn't be too difficult to rearrange things to your liking!
I'm just a bouncer, splatterers do it with more force.....

Guess I think different. I really don't want screw up the board. Plus with my carpal tunnel makes fine soldering hard and painful.

So if anyone knows of such connections I would appreciate it.
