Case Power Query

Hi,

I am creating a new case and want to include an internal USB Hub. the shape and design of the case rules out the use of most off the shelf hubs.
I plan to use the NZXT IU01 which requires its own 5V power but the ports only output 500ma which wont power the Pi.

If I use a 3A 5V USB power supply going into the case would there be any problems splitting this to power the Pi and the hub?
Essentially this would be powering the 2 devices using a single USB cable and im not sure of any issues that may occur with this.

any feedback would be appreciated.

I don't see why this wouldn't work. As long as the current draw of the usb hub and raspberry pi combined doesn't pull more current than the adapter can supply, then you should have no problem splitting the power cord inside the case.

Obviously, make sure all your connections are properly insulated at the splice so you don't short anything out. Also, make sure the cable of the adapter is rated for the current draw. It should be, but sometimes these adapters are never meant to reach their max power output.

we can give power supply 5V/3A for the Raspberry Pi 2 Model B Board.

The only requirement is the voltage MUST be 4.85V to 5.1V at the microUSB connector. RPi3B need at least 2.5A to run with all four cores hot & active.
