Portable pi build

Mon Mar 10, 2014 1:34 am

Today I'm starting on my build, I so far have a 3.5" LCD, the RPI, and some wires. Until I get everything, I want to know if I can hook up the wires of the screen to the rpi. Mainly because, I'm cutting the connectors to the screen of and just use the wires. I also want to know how to power the pi via gpio, or would micro USB be better, I want to make this as sleek as possible. I also need a voltage regulator for a li-po battery or should I do double a's? If li-po what is the reccomended cheap battery or if battery, would four be fine? Oh yeah...and I'm only 14 :D

Well, I have a Pi where I've removed the RCA plug from the board and soldered the wires from the Screen directly to the board. It works. Wouldn't do that with HDMI though if I were you.

As for the power, unless you can provide regulated power, go with the µUSB plug.
