How can i make a raspberry pi portable.

Fri Jan 03, 2014 12:27 am

So,I got the raspberry pi for Christmas with a starter pack and 3.5" tft monitor .my old iPod 5g video has broken and I took out its 30gb harddrive .so,I was wondering if I can make a portable out of all this ,even though the only electronic stores near me is Walmart, radio shack, office depot, and staples. If I can find a USB charger with two ports I can maybe turn all this into a portable ,but I don't a soldering iron nor do I have a 3d printer,CNC machine, saw,or anything else. So tell me,should I give up or is there another way. Please help.
Also I want to know if I can boot of that hard drive ,like put it in the SD card slot or something. Lastly, can I power the ft with five volts,if I can, then how?

Hi, Maybe the easiest way to make a Rpi portable is buying a Motorola lapdock, it has a battery, a keyboard and a screen. You need a few adapter and some short cable and maybe some velcro to stick the Rpi on the back of the screen. You also have 2 extra usb port so you can use a wifi adapter. The lapdock goes for about 30 to 80 at eBay. Just Google it you can find some nice fitting and look nice too.
