Anyone fancy porting Quake 2 to the RasPi? I've found source for the GP2X version (Linux based with OpenGL ES) here:

pickle.gp2x.de/source/yamagi_quake2_src.zip

I'll make a shameful attempt once I get my Pi but thought someone else wouldn't mind giving it a go?

I don't think the GP2X supports any kind of OpenGL, it doesn't even have a GPU. But Quake 2 didn't require a GPU, it had a software rasterizer so it should be fine.

Thats not for the GP2X, thats just the domain name where i put some stuff online.

I planned to try it out on myself when my Pi shows up.

The code should work the egl will need to be modified to work with the Pi. I also have a conversion for glquake, but i havnt released it yet.

Ah excellent, couldn't do much better than the original developer!
