Touchscreen desk, table,whiteboard, or wall

Tue Jul 30, 2013 3:59 pm

So yeah second post in only 1 day, but I've decided to completely change projects. I'm trying to make a touchscreen interface in my house. Its going to be a desk, table, whiteboard, or wall. My one question, is how do I do this? Can I get some LED or LCD screen and put it on my desk and then wire it to my raspberry pi? Would I be able to get some sort of touchscreen cover type thing on my screen? Or would I have to do a infrared sensor like the Wii whiteboard? If I do have to make a infrared sensor, could I do it with one of my two old webcams a LifeCam VX-3000 or Logitech Quickcam Chat?

Consider using the camera with OpenCV to recognise fingers, pens and points near the screen then see what you can do from there.
