Thu Jun 13, 2013 6:12 pm

IS IT POSSIBLE?
To make an Underwater raspberry pi, With a under water case, with a screen inside the case, and an underwater keyboard/mouse combo.
This would be EPIC!!

Just dump everything into a fish tank of clear oil

People make underwater PCs that way

" Mineral Oil " to be precise.

Mineral oil is not conductive. It may look like water, but it behaves very differently. Pure mineral oil does not have the free electrons necessary to conduct electricity.

How deep do you want to go?
What interfaces do you need?

30m and no buttons is a lot easier than 50+m and buttons are difficult once pressure.

Mineral oil will stop the pressure crushing the case, but I think its a bit more complicated than pouring oil into a box.

Optical sensors inside a transparent case are one option that avoids sealing and pressure issues of buttons. Hall-effect sensors might work.

hadn't seen that but I would of expected a lot more care should of been taken over the ports

get a mostly waterproof case, then neverwet the case. That would make sure it stayed dry. Can neverwet conduct electricity? spraying the ports might stop it working, or might short out the whole board...

Why not use a Otterbox 3000 a 3.5" LCD screen and a rechargable battery pack as well as anything you might want to add. and if you end up wanting to do this these things are located on:
