in a cigar box with a small screen attached inside the top cover. with a wireless keyboard it would be nice.

i would to see it in some older computer like one of the first beige mac with the screen built-in.

with the low power consuption, a little box with solar panel would be awesome to!

A Raspi would perfectly fit into a "Pringles Can", i think i'll try it out as soon as i can buy a Raspberry Pi.

One of the nintendo DS cases that hold the DS all the cables and stuff would probably work great. You could put a small screen inside the cover, a battery underneath the RasPi and still have room for some short cables.

I have one of these for My ipod bet the R-pi will fit right in. It has a jack for ipod speaker bet the same as R-pi but only holds 2 AA batteries but I'm sure there is enough room for at least 6 more.

Please no cases! R-pi is for kids to handle, empathise with, break and learn to solder, seek the physics inside components and learn the scale jumps between the chip and the circuit board and the web as steps to those between neurons and the zoosphere, touch components and dream about how to improve them. Wrap in cling film if you have to. I would argue by analogy that cased lifeforms stopped at shellfish and tortoises, admirable but inflexible, while vertebrates like mammals learnt to fly, think, and decide their future.

There are some projects I'm thinking of where I would like to have a custom case built (I was thinking of taking an old laptop screen and making an e-reader). I could make it myself but then all the edges would be hard 90 degree turns. Does anyone know of a reasonably priced place that lets you provide specs of how you'd want a case built?

1- size your case so that it matches a popular tablet
2- DIY ugly case wth 90° turns on the cheap
3- buy a $4 case protector matching your case from dealextreme
4- admire how it hides your ugly DIY case
5- profit ! (well, actually, savings ! but lotsa them.)

it would be better if people join together to create a 3d render of a case for the final board and someone or the raspberry pi foundation order say 2000 units that way you could probably have a perfect case for say £2.

Indeed that would work very well for a basic case and I hope that we do get a cheap case from the r-pi team along those exact lines, but what I'm thinking of (combining it with an LCD screen to make it an e-reader) would need a unique case built for the size of the screen

@Obarthelemy Yes I could do it myself but I want a pretty case, not a clunky one that I could make. I'm thinking about getting a block of wood and rounding the edges then putting my acrylic/plexiglass piece on top of it in the oven. The heat will make it malleable and I can shape it to the wood mold. In theory it should work and get me a cheap, pretty case to boot!

Why not go all Jimi Hendrix and set fire to your R-Pi and start programming on it at ultra high speed.

I would make my own then and then you could go all Jason Bourne if attacked, think of all those sarpe edges on your Pi (Think of Jason Bourne while in his Paris flat with the pen), you could buy two and make nunchucks with a cable between.

I would change the health warning aswell to something funny, like Raspberry Pi will not harm your health, but still may be addictive.
