Aluminium Cases

Thu Mar 07, 2013 10:14 am

Ive only seen one aluminium available on ebay (in USA at £65), a cnc'd version which is all a little bulky and not really to my liking and they dont appear to have decent finish.

so, I am looking at professionally manufacturing a handful of laser cut aluminium cases, then getting them anodised.

and would anyone be interesting in buying one and at what price?

thanks.

Several aluminum cases are out there

http://www.shopavies.com/ixxocart/produ ... 44-41.html new tops that enclose the SD Card should be coming out at the end of the month

http://store.mobileappsystems.com/100052 different colors available

http://iwhite-techworld.blogspot.com/20 ... cases.html

http://www.raspberry-pi-case.com/

there is definitely a market for them due to the cost of Aluminum they tend to run from low to the very high end which you've mentioned.

Can't wait for pics. I think the tubes are just chunks of clear plastic the one case I have that uses them that's basically all it is. A more detailed one would maybe be a single piece per LED instead of one large piece that covers them all. Where it's located I don't know I guess I like the top

I prefer these cases:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/330915260967?ss ... 1555.l2649

Several colors, with or without VESA holder and there is also very good heat outlet, from people feedback in my country.

"CASE FOR MOTHERBOARD RASPBERRY PI(Made in China), MODEL B!"

is that not a copy??

"There is manufacturing difference between China and UK board - littlebit different dimension of the USB sockets!!!"

and an obviously poor one.

Take look at forum for example here:

and many, many other topics.

// Already had been solved by the manufacturer, the case fits on UK also China board.

You might want to look at Proto Armour offerings:

Back to topic.
What will you think about these cases from Czech company EMKO.

1. EM-RASPBERRY B: http://www.emko.cz/catalog/it-cases/min ... y-b-silver
Price (silver): 130 CZK (approx. 4.35 GBP), colour (black or blue) +45 CZK (approx. 1.51 GBP)

2. EM-RASPBERRY B PLUS: http://www.emko.cz/catalog/it-cases/min ... lus-silver
Price (silver): 185 CZK (approx. 6.19 GBP), colour (black or blue) +45 CZK (approx. 1.51 GBP)

Prices are without VAT 21%, without shipping costs and they are valid for small amount orders. For bigger orders price can be little reduced.
Version plus contains little stronger panels.

i saw those recenlty.

a little rough about the edges, but they are cheap to be fair.

the only thing stopping me at the minute is these bloody light pipes.

can i really go without them?

or maybe take a feed from the gpio just for a power led?
