First off let me be honest here, even if it sounds like I know what im doing I have no clue what the hell I'm talking about.
I was reading a post in basic setup and someone wanted to use the rpi as a mother board and that got me thinking, I have tons of old chips and cards laying around could you attach an external graphics card through the goip pins? I have no clue have the arm chips works or if you could even do something like that. I was also wonder if you could have more memory via virtual memory.

nay, nay and thrice nay as Frankie Howard would say
Completely different architecture, a Pi is a Pi, you get what you buy and that is an all-in-one non-upgradable mini PC

In all likelihood, any graphics card you would be able to attach, probably won't be as fast as the one built in anyway.

well that doesn't make sense. How would the pi be faster then a raddon or a gtx?jamesh wrote:In all likelihood, any graphics card you would be able to attach, probably won't be as fast as the one built in anyway.

Re: RPi as a mother board
The GPIO pins aren't fast enough to run a video card at full speed (if you were enough of an electronics wizard to get it to work in the first place).
