I've read loads of discussions here about the "ultimate" case for the Raspberry Pi: Lego, cigar boxes, nice metals... Which is all very nice, but how about a simple solution? Wouldn't it be possible to just use a transparant plastic bag (like the ones used to deep freeze food), put all the cabling through the opening and (almost) seal it with adhesive tape? Keeps dust out, shouldn't give any cooling issues. And you can still admire the board in all it's glory.

Paul.

Some of those plastic bags can be prone to static. Best to stick to paper.

How about one of those antistatic bags that they supply memory modules in? Or maybe those might be conductive, bah ...

They are not conductive enough to do damage or influence the working of a simple piece of electronics like the Rapsberry-Pi. So go ahead an put the Pi in or on top of one.

Empty cigarette pack, king size, box (not soft pack) appears to be be perfectly sized. Available free on many sidewalks.

Deck of cards might work, too, as well as looking a smidge more attractive.
