I remember spending hours using The Quill to create text edventures on my Commodore 64.

I agree! It's a beautiful IDE for a noob like me. Speaking of which have you managed to install it on the Pi? I have tried installing it from the tarball, but had no luck. I'm guessing it's because it's not suitable for this arm processor?

I was stting up a card with raspbian the other day, figured I'd give it a try.

No dice, at least on raspbian. The only arm version of ni available is arm5vte, and no hardfloat version is available.
