Resolution on the client is 1920*1080, video(mp4) is slow, what can i do to solve this problem?
Maybe I need to install the video codecs? Noticed that when watching videos CPU load is high, it is concluded that not working hardware video decoding.

Hello there. I tried to download the above file for the client and server. It pulls down a 1.0 GB file. When I try to extract it, I get an error: Sorry, this archive format is not supported.

The other file you posted for just the client is 1.3 GB. Did the first file get truncated?

Thanks for the great work.

hello,

try to change the gpu memory:

sudo nano /boot/config.txt
search: #disable_overscan=1 change to disable_overscan=1

search:
#hdmi_group= ??
#hdmi_mode= ??

change to:
hdmi_group=1
hdmi_mode=16

insert in last row:
gpu_mem=128

save and restart the Pi

PS:
hdmi_mode=4 (> [email protected])
hdmi_mode=16 (>[email protected])

About slow video playback. RPI2 connect to the 17'' lcd with resolution 1280*1024 (both in config.txt and site.cfg). Video playing in fullscreen, but slow. Video file was encoded in MPEG4. I convert it in h.264, but it is still slow. HW acceleration doesn't works, screens are confirm this.

Tell me please how to activate codecs.

PS I try to activate h.264 with following command
vcgencmd codec_enabled H264
but the result is the same.

PSPS
And one more problem. When rebooting RPI2, splashscreen of XIBO client shows long time, 4-5 mins may be. How can i solve this issue?

So I have uboot's image up and running. However, the wifi dongle I have isn't working. I can verify that it works with the fresh install of Raspbian I installed when I first set up the board.

Plus, everything is different with this image. How do I get the same apps as the default installation of Raspbian?

I figured out the issue: uboot's image is on Raspbian "wheezy", the latest version is "jessie".

Here's the thread on how to update to jessie: viewtopic.php?t=121880

However, I'm running into some issues during the update with phpmyadmin. It's asking for the admin password to the database. For now, I'm skipping that update.

Edit: Works, but update breaks Xibo. Fixed libavformat issues by adding the wheezy repos in /etc/apt/sources.list, and /etc/apt/sources.list.d/raspi.list. But now for some reasone it's saying the version of Berkelium isn't compatible...

Edit 2: Success!!! Berkelium needs libv8-3.8.9.20, which can be installed from the wheezy repos.

I don't think that this post is solution.
How do I know for RPI2 H.264 codec is free. I have it activated with the command "vcgencmd codec_enabled H264", but the video is also played with lags. Because the GPU does not participate in the video playback.

hello,

upgrade to 1.7.x = no
Xibo Client 1.6.x for Raspberry (= libavg Python player) comes from "hellbender"
Xibo don't support official Raspberry Pi (only Windows & Android)

I hope someone will program a new Python Player for the new Xibo Version 8-) ?

I have installed Xibo16-RPI2 image and it works but i have a problem.

At the beginning Raspberry starts in the good way (connects to server, shows the stuff) but after some time it remains black screen (black, not blank) with mouse-pointer in the center of it.
It seems to give no error (i'm new to Linux).

Can you help me?
