Cyntech Black Case Video Review

Wed Dec 12, 2012 2:14 am

I recently received the Cyntech BerryBlack Raspberry Pi Enclosure and I made a short video review about it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LVLMLNR3mH8

I'm very impressed with the design and build quality of this case and I'm so thrilled that Cyntech decided to make it available in black. If there are any questions about something that was not covered in my review just let me know and I'll do my best to answer them.

Ordered one the day before you posted this video. Just got it today and I have to say I love it! Way better the other three cases I had... of course one of them was homemade so it sucked... bad.

Great photos. I have to admit, after a few days with two of these cases, I'm very happy with them. Fit's great, good solid construction, well thought out design and LIGHT PIPES! :o

What kind of WiFi adapter is that?
arm_freq=1100 / core_freq=500 / sdram_freq=450 / over_voltage=6

It is a Rosewill RNWD-N1502UBE. It uses the Ralink RT5370 chipset (802.11 b/g/n) and it supports the following wireless modes in Linux:
• IBSS (ad-hoc/peer-to-peer)
• managed (station)
• AP (access point)
• AP/VLAN
• WDS (wireless distribution system)
• monitor
• mesh point

This chipset uses the rt2800usb Linux driver which is GPL but it does require non-free firmware. It worked out-of-the-box on the 2012-10-28 Raspbian image.
