Raspberry Pi into iMacG4

Sat Apr 06, 2019 3:53 pm

I say chaps,
I've got this iMac G4 (swan-neck thing you may recall) which I like the look of, but it's pretty useless these days.
Thought I might rip most of its guts out and put in a Pi!
Would have to interface HDMI to the screen.
Anyone ever try this?

I never worked out if I liked that machine or not despite both drooling over it in the shops and wishing about buying one

You may find http://www.dremeljunkie.com/2015/05/mod ... odern.html handy as it has details of the power supply and monitor cabling.

Good luck - putting a pi in an old Mac is better than the fish tank mods.

Currently on eBay there is one in the U.K. for $13 (why in Dollars eBay) sooo tempting...
Need Pi spray - these things are breeding in my house...

I have just the big Mac G4 with the curvy handles top & bottom.

HDMI to DVI is perhaps the easiest.

Look at:

for some ideas.
