Yet another bloody alu case

Sat Nov 17, 2012 12:23 am

So heres what I scrambled together this evening:

Still full of would haves, should haves and could haves (and a zeroing bummer) but it seems to work well for now. The second one will be glorious  Those ports just seem to be slapped on to the board with a precision of a couple of millimeters between the boards I have.

It has a lid made out of Alcon Dibond with a brushed finish and the case will be anodized black for that little extra.

Looks like some nice CNC work. Love it!

Now, if you wrote the g-code for the program on the Pi, that would make it even better

It's supposed to be heavy. Anything you don't need a crane for is too light and may fall off the table. This is a compromise as I still don't have a traverse crane in my living room. My wife doesn't want one there for some reason. Maybe if I get her a good enough chocolate box for christmas, the case could be made out of a table size piece of tungsten.

I'm too lazy to write G-code by hand so it's CAM'd with a few bugs. Get me a CAM package which runs on 512MB of RAM and I'll use it 8-)

I like it, doubles as potentially deadly projectile ....
(handy in the case of burglars or wild animals breaking into the house)

Any chance you will be sharing the gcode?
