Pi3 b+ Magi Coin Mining Setup Problem

Sat Jun 16, 2018 3:20 pm

Hi Everyone,

I am a complete noob with Pi's and am hoping that I can learn how things work a little at the same time as resolving my current issue.

I have an RPi3 b+ with Raspbian installed. it is less than 2 weeks old and i am at my wits end.

I want to mine Magi Coin.

I have been following the instructions given here:
https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@gri ... spberry-pi

yet I get to the point:
cd ~/magi/src
sudo install -m 755 magid /usr/bin/magid
and I get the response each time MAGI is a binery file and not executable!!!

Can anyone please help me, like I say I am at my wits' end!

Cheers

Pabs

Welcome to the Raspberry Pi forums.
I get to the point:
cd ~/magi/src
sudo install -m 755 magid /usr/bin/magid
and I get the response each time MAGI is a binery file and not executable!!!
Maybe you should be asking either the writer of the tutorial or the developer/maintainer of the package you are installing why their documentation does not work for you?

Failing that, cut and paste into this discussion the actual commands you are entering, and the full precise errors you get.

Entering

Code: Select all

cd ~/magi/src
should be ok, because you did that earlier in Step 6 before compiling.

There is no documentation referring to a file named MAGI. (Case is significant in Linux filenames.)

Check that the compilation was successful and that you have a file ~/magi/src/magid, by showing the output from

Code: Select all

ls -l ~/magi/src/magid
