I have a 12V 0.10A Fan (Brushless DC) lying around and I would like to use it on my Raspberry Pi 3B. Would it be possible to run it at its max RPM but not destroy the Pi, keeping in mind that I have a few LEDs hooked up and will be hooking up other things too.
Any help would be appreciated
Re: 12V Fan on PI GPIO
Hi.
You will need an external 12V supply as the pi does not have 12V on it, you will also need a transistor and resistor to allow the 3.3V of the gpio to control the 12V
If you search the forum you will find several posts about this very subject.
