Re: Raspberry Pi cluster nodes

I want to build a network cluster with a set of Raspberry Pi nodes.

This is a fun/educational project about how a cluster work and how to solve some toy problems.

This idea is popping up in my mind from time to time, but there was no extremely cheap candidate computer for such a project around. $99 per node is no option and I want the nodes to be independend from powergrid (if there is less power - rund fewer nodes).

I still have to find

small toy problems to solve besides raytracing, image filtering, fractales
a cluster software which can work with the given limitations of RAM, disk space, etc.

Greetings

Michael

Do a search for 'bramble' on the forums - this topic has come up a a few times. Basically, great for teaching, but not cost effective for real work.

There was a big thread about bramble in this forum, but its latest post was from October. Should I consider this project as dead?
