Smart mirror possibilities

I would like to make a smart mirror for my fiance but I have a two questions. My first is, could I have it recognize her face/voice and display things such as weather, a feel good saying, or her schedule? If the previous question is possible, what would I need to do such a thing? I already have the TV I will be using, a 64GB micro SD, the wooden frame, and the mirror part. I wasn't sure what RPi I would need so I figured I'd also ask that here. Thanks in advance for the help and I appreciate any input!

A female voice has higher frequencies than a male voice. So by just capturing any vowel you could split it into formants using fft and find out if it sounds female or male. A vowel is built up from different resonating frequencies called formants.
This does not necessarily identify the speaker. But it is one way you could try. Matematika should be able to handle this approach well.
You could also wire two GPIO buttons with the name tags on them in case you get a flu, just in case...

Oh I didn't take that into account. I guess I will have to do a little more research to see if I should even bother doing the voice recognition. Thanks again for the reply my friend!
