Shoe speaker project

Tue Nov 22, 2016 8:02 pm

First time user of Rasberry Pi, can code, not sure if this is the right place for this post. I had an idea for a project utilizing a pair of shoes, 4-6 speakers, and a pressure pad in which the user would walk and different sounds would play with each step. I was just wondering what hardware I would need to start said project. Would the products from these links work and what rasberry pi or other hardware should I purchase for this to work?

The Pi has digital input. Any pressure switch with digital output would work. Then you need bandaids for your feet to cover where the switches rub. Look for something comfortable.

An alternative might be one of those bluetooth devices you fit to your shoelaces. The Pi 3 has Bluetooth. You can then measure steps and things.

For a pressure switch, you could look at the pads used in alarm systems. A couple of sheets of foil with thin foam in between. Put a voltage through a resistor to one sheet and measure the voltage change when heel pressure brings the sheets together.
