Is it possible to have a Pi Zero (v1.2) set up as a gadget, and have a wifi dongle connected to it?
My thought is that no it isn't as the Zero connects to the host PC via the micro USB port (not the power port). If I solder a usb cable to the test pads on the Zero, this would free up the usb port for a wifi dongle, but I assume the wifi dongle would be visible to the host PC and the Zero.
My end goal is to have the Zero configured as an ethernet gadget that's visible to the host PC via ssh and http. The wifi will be set up as a hotspot that my iDevices can connect to and print PDFs. The host PC can then download the pdfs and print hard copies.
Just before posting this, I stumbled on the possibility of using a ESP8266 for wifi so will start looking down that path as an alternative - can anyone recommend ESP8266 that doesn't require super-fine soldering?
