WVGA and screen rotation

Wed Aug 15, 2012 5:59 pm

Hi

I want to build in stationarry a 7" screen together with touch panel and the raspberry into a wall in flat for light steering, alarming and so on.

1st issue is: the resolution of these ebay 7" monitors which have 800x480 does not seem to be supported over the normal config.txt. is there any hint you can give me?

2nd: has anybody tried to rotate the screen? would be perfect (tablet or phone like) to have a 90° screen rotation in the gui mode

thanks a lot
br

Well for 800x480 it's a known issue that the mode is not supported by config.txt (but no reason why GPU can't display it) and it will be added to new firmware eventually (lots of people have 7" ebay screens apparently)

And for rotating:
http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewt ... lf#p132201
However, just like resolution, rotation is set at boot time, so it won't "rotate" like a tablet unless you restart again.
{sig} Setup: Original version Raspberry Pi (B, rev1, 256MB), Dell 2001FP monitor (1600x1200), 8GB Class 4 SD Card with Raspbian and XBMC, DD-WRT wireless bridge
