Simple clear case from camera filter packaging box

Hi there!
I just want to share my super simple DIY enclosure. I managed to modify the packaging of a 67mm Sky filter to house my raspberryPi. The length of the board fits nearly perfect, so all I had to do was opening up the sides to make the overlapping connectors come out. As I'm not planning to use HDMI (as of yet), I didn't opened the backside of the case. However, this addition is definitely possible without too much of a hassle...

A few notes on working with the material (PS == Polystyrene): The material is very brittle, so I needed to be very careful not to break anything inadvertently!!!

I mainly used a hacksaw blade, a drill and a triangular file. For rectangular notches (USB, Ethernet,...) I just made two vertical cuts and carefully broke the plastic at the edge. Smoothing the edge with the file -> done.

For holes (power, audio, ...) I used a small drill (the only one I had :ugeek: ) and used it as a rasp until I could work with the file...

Here is the final result \o/

Let me know, what you think of it and what you would do with the space left?

I, for one, don't miss the feeling of almost breaking things of the board when working on the connectors... ;)

*nomnom :D sounds delicious!
However, I'm not sure how to regulate temperature inside the case to meet the >70°C <80°C requirement (see {1}). At least not yet... (usual recommendation for raising heat is running Crisis – is there a port for ARM?)

I think, I won't need an integrated hub. But some sort of screen sounds very tempting (e.g. for displaying the in-case-temperature... :geek: ). I have roughly 35mm x 90mm x 17mm left. I wonder if there are LCD screens (cheap of course) that fit in there?

Anyway, thanks guys!
