Create a screen from a digital frame

Thu Apr 26, 2018 12:23 pm

Hi,
I am creating a small project with raspberry pi. I need a screen so i pulled out the matrix from the old digital frame. Now i have a question. Can I use it as a screen for my raspberry.
Summarizing:
- I want to use HDMI (i will use GPIO for other purpose)
- Ribbon from matrix has 50 pins
- Name of digital frame - Intenso Media Gallery 9,7"
- if you have any question I will be happy to answer

Specification of the matrix
Ribbon
PCB of frame
PCB of frame v2
Control panel of frame

P.S. Sorry for mistakes and poor English :(

Another question which comes up so often it deserves its own FAQ.

I would say that hoping to be able to use some random screen from something else with a Pi is an unrealistic expectation, overly optimistic, and, even if possible, not worth the effort or cost of doing it.

Others are less pessimistic and you should be able to find other responses and details on how you might go about it, what is required, in past postings on the forum.
