Running a website internally offline

Tue Nov 14, 2017 5:51 pm

Hi there,

Forgive me if this is the wrong category to be posting in.

I am trying to install a website that displays a random image from a library dictated by a PHP script. I would like to have this site hosted internally on the PI and launch on boot with no requirement of an internet connection.

In the past I used chillpie to auto boot into the site. But that requires an internet connection and will not work for this application.

Does anyone know a good direction for me to take? I need to set this up on ten Pi's and would like to make an image I can copy to my cards.

Thank you in advance. Any help is deeply appreciated.

Follow any recent tutorial on how to install Apache or a LAMP server on the RPi. Do not forward ports in your router or do not plug Internet connection into the router. Any device on your local network will then have access to your local web site.
Go here for my RPi writeup. Basic config, Serial Port add-on etc:
