Thu May 17, 2012 10:28 am

Hi to all,
I'd like to create a list of all wifi dongles working on Raspberry PI with Debian distro, based on users experience.
Please add your device.
Thanks

I've got the Belkin Wireless G dongle to work, but I needed to add usbcore to the modules file to ensure that the USB was fully initialised before loading the wifi drivers.

This one works a treate: http://www.maplin.co.uk/micro-n150-wire ... tor-391034

And it can be set up with really very minimal user intervention. Take a look at http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewt ... =26&t=6256

Hi to all,
I've trying with an Ralink RT3070 chipset.
When I plug it on my ubuntu desktop it automatically uses the rt2800 module and I could use it.
However when I plug it onto the raspi the system recognizes the usb vendor (is a Linksys WUSB100 v2 RangePlus Wireless Network Adapter [Ralink RT3070] ) but doesn't try to load the rt2800 module, and it doesn't work :(
Can you help me? Thanks

Tp-Link 723N works fine but the USB fuse needs to be shorted in order to power it directly from the Pi. You just need to do "apt-get install firmware-realtek" and configure the network.

Hi,
Really there is not any error, it just doesn't work.
Debian recognized the dongle as it is showed using a lsusb command and a dmesg command after plugin it.
Also as it is a ralink device I installed the firmware-ralink package from the non-free repo.
However the lsmod doesn't show any module loaded, it is supposed to load a rt2800 module when the usb is plugged but it doesn't show any module.
Also when I run a iwconfig it doens't show any wireless extension :(
On archLinux using this: http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewt ... 84&p=96014 worked.

Hi,

as outlined in http://www.brucalipto.org/linux/the-ras ... ireless-n/ it looks like the WUSB100 is working on Rasbian: can anybody test it and give feedback?

Thanks
Bye

I JUST got my Hawking HWUN3 from amazon and it works right out of the box. No muss no fuss.
Plugged it in, a little iwconfig action and poof.

Code: Select all

wlan0 IEEE 802.11bgn ESSID:off/any
          Mode:Managed Access Point: Not-Associated Tx-Power=20 dBm
          Retry long limit:7 RTS thr:off Fragment thr:off
          Encryption key:off
          Power Management:on
Running Raspian "wheezy" and have been keeping it up to date.
Love it!
