would this mini usb dac work in openelec/raspbmc?

my analog audio has always been bad and I was wondering it would improve even a little if I used this http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mini-PCM2704-US ... 2a2e6d3ffc I'm using openelec right now and if I put the sound to high I get a very high amount of background noise.
