arecord creates lot of characerts instead vu-meter

Fri Oct 04, 2013 6:55 am

Dear all,

a few months ago i often uses arecord to show a vu-meter of a sound input of an externen usb sound card.
Yesterday i wanted to do the same by use the command:

Code: Select all

arecord -vv -D plughw:1,0
But it doesn't really show the vu-meter. Please have a look on the attached screenshot (sorry for the bad resolution).

Does somebody know something about this issue?
BTW: the external soundcard is a Behringer UCA 202.

Thanks!

Problem solved!

The command has to look like this:

Code: Select all

arecod -vv -D plughw:1,0 /dev/null

There is a spelling error:

Code: Select all

arecord-vv -D plughw:1,0 /dev/null
Thanks, btw.
