DLNA streaming/Airplay

Thu Jul 04, 2013 1:20 am

Helllo, I have a small pi project I'm attempting, without xbmc. First off,
  • How do I accomplish dlna/upnp streaming e.g. from samsung's Allshare?
  • How do I correctly configure Shairport to allow Airplay streaming through alsa?
  • How do I correctly configure pocketsphinx for offline speech recognition?
I'm running Raspbian. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have used gmrender-resurrect to achieve DLNA playback. Guide here http://rootprompt.apatsch.net/2013/03/0 ... rt-2-dlna/. It is working very nicely using an external DAC connected to the USB port. I am using Bubble UPnP as a controller feeding content from my file server that is running Serviio.

Do use gstreamer-1.0 though, as gstreamer-0.10 has a bug where it continuously spawns new threads. This kills playback after about an hour.
