Weather Watch [obsolete]

Tue Jun 11, 2013 7:54 pm

Okay this is what i am doing. First thing is i am trying to get a webcam to broadcast a image every say 15 min and also show a temp. while all being completely self sufficient. AKA solar/wind power/cell signal for internet

Okay i have been working with the mjpg-streamer and i got it to do a static image but even if i have the image refresh every 15 minutes it will still put a strain on the PI depending on how many people are connected to see the image. Is there a way to upload the image to a central server?

This is going to be a kind of Running log of the progress and help log to get this going.

I have done something similar to your idea. Check out my tutorial and see if you can adapt any of it!

ive seen people use the 3g dongle thing but from what i read its only (GSM) and i cannot find a website for the actual provider.

i need something that i can get to work with a (CDMA) 850mhz,1900mhz to (LTE)700mhz i would prefer the standard cdma due to it give me more room to be remote.

let me know what ya got that will work. There usb devices wont work with linux and they require software to work. So i am trying to find something that will work. I can take the device to them and they can add it to the network but i need a device.

Thanks in advanced
