XBMC - No Audio

Sun Jun 09, 2013 11:20 am

Hi,

I have installed XBMC on the Raspberry Pi. I have added a couple of video files.

I am able to play the video; but i am not able to hear the audio; have connected the RPi using HDMI to the TV. I tried to hear the video from audio jack too. but not able to hear any audio.

Thanks.

Hi,

Under xbmc settings, if you go to system and then audio, have you set it to use HDMI as output for audio?

I don't know much about HDMI TVs but you may need to tweak some settings to get the audio working.
As for audio from the headphone socket that only works if you set the audio in XMBC to Analogue 2.0 mode.

Yes, it works when the audio is set to analog and using ear phones. But not in HDMI output. :-(

DNIe is not the model number it's a technology term: "Digital Natural Image engine" a model number for your TV would look something like LN23R41B or LE40B550A5 etc.

My sound would only return by changing it from HDMI to Analog, reseting the Pi, then setting it back to HDMI

Hi guys

I too have many audio problem with XBMC on the "pie". I tryed many different sys settings without success. Yesterday I made it working by simply pressing the pause button and than the fastfrw and out of the blue the audio was working!. I can now hear youTube, video from the LAN and TVs program !. Let me know if it works for you !
I have connected RP with HDMI to Samsung TV (I do still have a small red icon on the top right corner of the TV that tell me that there is no audio).

Hello everyone.
I have succesfully installed XBMC on a Pi. I have also followed Adafruit's tutorial : http://learn.adafruit.com/using-an-ir-r ... dia-center to use their remote control. Works like a charm ( even if sometimes you have to push twice a button ).
It's connected through HDMI to an Epson video-projector. The projector is able to emit the sound.
However, because of its really poOor quality, I tried to connect the Raspberry Pi to our Hi-Fi. I'm using one of those audio cables ( sorry for not knowing the exact name ) with red and white jacks. I know the audio-out from the Pi is mono, but I figured it'd be hundreds time better rather the sound from the projector.
But it doesn't work. Tried with red, white… No difference. Changed the setting in XBMC from HDMI to analog. Nothing.
If you could help, it would be great. Thank you.
Cheers from Paris, France.
