live audio stream help

Tue Apr 21, 2020 12:03 am

hi guys i would like to use a rasberry device to stream live audio from a digital mixer to the web or even better to an app which will send a push notification to tell my church users im live.

we have an analogue system UHF connected to a 12 channel mixer. Recently we had someone who came and fitted a rasberry with a sound card to the mixer and it sends a live stream to his app but he charges each user

i want to set the same system up and offer it free to the users. I have a pi 4 and followed a few guides icecast and darkice but cant seem to get it working on the pi 4. the one he has used is a pi 3+

so i have now ordered the same one

any tips and advice on setting this up will be much appreciated

I used icecast2 and mpd to create streaming on the Web. It worked flawlessly and I never had any difficulties. True, I started the server on RPI 3+, but I think RPI 4 will also work as a streaming server (Although Buster contains too many errors)

I haven't used this with a Pi, but I've had excellent experience using it on other Linux machines for icecast:
