Would it be possible to connect this sensor to a pi?

Tue Mar 31, 2020 2:43 am

Hi

I dont know much about mipi connectors and the different sizes etc

Would it be possible to connect this to a raspberry pi?

Image

Its a foveon image sensor. Works differently to CMOS and I thought it would be cool to mess around with. Do any of you know if it would be possible to connect this to a pi? I cant really tell what connection this uses

Very very unlikely.
You'd need the datasheet from the manufacturer to be able to tell and it is very unlikley given that you are asking the question, that you'd be able to deal with the hardware/software required to make it work.
The Pi only has support for 2 cameras.

As above, but I'd just say no.

If I had that, I can connect that sensor to the pi using bolts and nuts to the RPi board's mounting holes.... and that's about it.
connected? yes!
usable? out of the question!

Camera elements without an embedded controller are EXTREMELY fussy. Better to settle for something else that connects to the Pi if that's your desire.
