Custom head unit

Hello, I'm new to the forums. Sorry if this is in the wrong section.
But I've done research and everyone that uses a Raspberry Pi as a head unit seems to transfer the audio to a normal headunit. I'm looking into making the Pi a standalone. The plan is to use a Pi4 or Pi3B as I have both, a PiJuice HAT to keep the system running when the ignition is off, a Piano 2.1 HiFi DAC, a 7 inch touchscreen, and a 12v to 5v converter. I wanna install a custom os, I'm aware of the open auto, but I recently switched to an iPhone so I need something compatible with the CarPlay. As for audio, I wanna use the DAC and connect it directly to the amplifiers (4 channel for front and rear and a monoblock for the subs).
Is there something I'm missing or does this sound like a solid plan?
