Audio out via USB?

Hey,
What I'm trying to achieve is iPhone audio via AirPlay to my car's headunit (VW-RNS 310) via the MDI USB connection which can ordinarily output live song info (artist, name, duration etc) including steering wheel controls.
What I can do so far:
-Set RPi up as an access point
-Install RPiPlay
What I'm stuck on:
-Outputting audio/info via USB to the MDI interface
Is this something that's achieveable?
